About
Andrea Bonarini (Milan, 1957). (Master in Electronics Engineering, 1984) (PhD Computer and System Engineering, 1989). Full Professor at the Department of Electronics and Information of the Politecnico di Milano. He is coordinating the Politecnico di Milano Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab since 1984, where, among other, he has developed several autonomous mobile robots for service, entertainment (Robot soccer - Robocup), teaching and space applications.
Founding member of the AI*IA (the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence), and among the founders of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Italian Chapter (present Chair). He is also deeply involved in the Robocup international research effort (Executive Committee Member).
Involved in several national and international research projects funded by the EU, national agencies, public and private companies.
His research interests include Intelligent Data Interpretation, Autonomous Robotic Agents, Affective Robotics, Reinforcement Learning, and Fuzzy Systems. He has published more than 130 papers in international journals, books, and congress proceedings.
